Campus Life
Liberal campus groups outnumber conservative campus groups by 12 to four.
There are four conservative campus groups: the College Republicans, Hoyas for Liberty, Israel Alliance, and Right to Life, the last of which is affiliated with the Campus Leadership Program, which provides groups with advice, assistance, and many kinds of support.
There are two conservative publications:The Georgetown Federalist and The Georgetown Academy, which are also affiliated with CLP.
There are at least 12 active liberal campus groups: Amnesty International, College Democrats, Eco-Action, GU Pride, Hoya Global Initiative, Just One Day, Leaders in Education About Diversity, M.E.Ch.A., NAACP, Solidarity Committee, Stuents for Justice in Palestine, and United Feminists. There are two leftist student publications: The Georgetown Voice and The Fire This Time.
Other student publications include the bi-weekly The Hoya and the monthly Georgetown Independent.
The Georgetown Voice praised "Keep Sex Positive Week" for its "in-your-face activities...demonstrating sexual positions in Red Square" and because it "outraged outside conservative groups and shocked moderates." The blog and paper has featured other sex columns that undermine traditional values.
